Select Alarm on Error to specify whether an entity generates an alarm when a UCO-related error occurs.
Error types
The following errors can trigger an alarm:
-
Expression errors
Important: If the expression quality is bad and the Resume on Error check box is selected, the system does not generate an alarm.
-
Client session errors
-
Utilization event errors
-
Entity naming errors
-
OEE and utilization value errors
Additional attributes
When you select Alarm on Error, the following options become available:
-
Alarm priority: A numeric value that is logged and represents the System Platform alarm priority.
-
Alarm message: The System Platform alarm message that is logged. Enter the message manually or select Browse to insert a System Platform attribute reference.
Alarm conditions
Two types of alarm conditions are available for equipment monitoring:
-
Error during raw reason code determination: An alarm indicating that an error occurred while attempting to determine the current raw reason code.
For example, an attribute reference contained in an expression for a raw reason code goes to bad quality.
-
Monitoring with scripting and alarm extensions: You can monitor the current raw reason code and use scripting in conjunction with alarm extensions to trigger an alarm.
For example, a field attribute of type Boolean can be added to the UCO and an alarm extension set on it. Then, a script can be written to set this attribute if a specific raw reason code or set of raw reason codes is detected on the object.
