Before you install MES:
-
Make sure that the nodes on which Manufacturing Execution System (MES) will be installed meet the hardware and software requirements.
-
Understand user security and permissions that are related to the installation. See MES security and permissions.
-
Identify which MES products and components will be installed on each node in the system. For assistance with this task, see MES components, the MES Deployment documentation.
-
With the products and components to be installed on the nodes identified, determine which MES role-based installation groups will be installed on each node. See MES role-based installation.
-
Make sure that the prerequisite software for the planned products and components is installed on each node. See MES prerequisite software.
-
MES includes the components for extracting on-premises MES production and utilization data and publishing it to AVEVA CONNECT data services where it is available to CONNECT visualization. For more information on setting up MES Cloud integration, see Implement MES Cloud Integration.
