Pending restarts

If either Windows Update or the MES setup program detects that a system restart is pending, the setup program will automatically display an information message and initiate a restart of the machine. To continue with the installation:

1. Restart your machine.

2. Run the installation again.

If the restart message reoccurs

Occasionally, restarting the computer does not clear the pending restart message. This can be caused by a value in the following registry key:

Key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager

Value: PendingFileRenameOperations

If you find this key/value combination, check the registry value data to identify the component that is requiring system restart and contact your IT department or the component vendor for further help.
