Running MES in a two-node failover cluster has special installation and configuration requirements. You must consider the prerequisite system and setup requirements. Also, you need to know how to set up the cluster nodes. Finally, you must understand how to configure specific MES components on each node in the cluster environment. For detailed information, see the related topics.
Typical MES failover cluster
A typical MES cluster is configured with two failover nodes, each installed with the MES middleware. The MES database is installed on a separate database node. One or more other nodes have MES Client and the MES middleware proxy installed.
In the following figure, the failover cluster consists of Node 1 and Node 2. An MES database is installed on a separate node. An MES Client node connects to the cluster ClusterName using a fully qualified domain name (FQDN) similar to <hostname>.<DomainName>.com.
