On-demand history recovery is available for an Events to CONNECT Component if the Data Ingress Data Source Default settings are configured in History Only data collection mode. For MES, history recovery of data more than 5 days in the past is only available for CONNECT data types set for on-demand curation (frequency is set to 0) which is the default configuration. When MES curation is using the staging tables, the data is only stored for 5 days.

Configure Events to CONNECT to recover event history

  1. Select the Data Ingress tab.

  2. Select the Component Id for which to recover event history.

If on-demand history recovery is enabled for the selected Component Id, the Data Ingress History Recovery tab is displayed.

  3. (Optional) To verify the data collection mode for the component, do the following:

    1. Select the Data Source tab and expand the Default settings.

    2. In the Data Collection Mode field, verify that History Only is selected.

Note: If the data collection mode is updated, you must reconfigure and restart the Data Ingress Component.

  4. Select the History Recovery tab.

The On-Demand History Recovery list displays.

Post-install configurator Events to CONNECT Data Ingress History Recovery settings.

  5. To add a start time and end time to recover event data for, select Add.

The On-Demand History Recovery Details appears displaying the following read-only fields:

    • Operation Id — The new history recovery interval identifier (automatically generated).

    • Checkpoint — The latest timestamp that the history recovery has completed with the range being between start time and the end time.

    • Progress — The progress (%) for requesting the data from the curator service and does not include the progress of sending the data to CONNECT data services. To determine when all the data has been sent, view the OMF egress logs.

    • Items — The number of data selection items retrieved for history recovery.

    • Status — The status of the history recovery operation (active, complete, canceled, failed).

    • Errors — The number of errors encountered during the history recovery.

Post-install configurator Events to CONNECT Data Ingress History Recovery settings with active history recovery details.

  6. Enter a Start Date Time and End Date Time in the following format: YYYY-MM-DDTHH:MM:SSZ.

  7. To start the history recovery operation, select Configure.

Select Refresh to update the On-Demand History Recovery Details for the active history recovery operation. The Configuration Messages window also displays information about about the status of the operation. The Component and OMFEgress log files will also log detailed diagnostic information related to the operation.

Multiple history recovery operations can be added to an Events to CONNECT Component. Only one on-demand history recovery operation for a component can be active at a time. If multiple history recovery operations are specified for a single the items will process in order of the Operation Id.

Note: Saved on-demand history recovery operations can be deleted. To delete a item, select the operation to be removed in the On-Demand History Recoveries list, and then select Delete.
