Navigate the Steps tab toolbar

The following buttons are specific to the Steps tab. For information about the other buttons, see Understand the button toolbar.

Before using any of these buttons, select the step with which you want to work.

  • Step Login

    The MES Operator Step Login button used to log the current user into a step.

    Logs the current operator into the step.

  • Step Logout

    The MES Operator Step Logout button used to log the current user out of a step.

    Logs the current user off of the step. This does not complete the step.

  • List Operators

    The MES Operator List Operator button used to view the users currently logged onto the step.

    Lists the users that are currently logged on to the step.

  • View Documents

    The MES Operator View Documents button used to view the documents attached to the step.

    Displays the document that is attached to the step. If the step has no file attached, this button is not available.

  • Step Action

    The MES Operator Step Action button used to start an action that has been defined for the step.

    Initiates the action that has been defined for the step.

  • Step Complete

    The MES Operator Step Bypass button used to skip a step.

    Changes the state of the step to Completed. All actions, if applicable, must be performed prior to marking the step as Complete.

  • Step Bypass

    The MES Operator Step Bypass button used to skip a step.

    Skips the execution of the step and marks the step as Bypassed.

  • Authorize

    The MES Operator Authorize button used to sign-off on a step requiring a certification audit.

    Performs an authorization sign-off for a step that requires a certification audit.

  • Step Rework

    The MES Operator Step Rework button used to select steps to be reworked.

    Displays the Select Steps to Rework dialog to allow you to select a completed step to be reworked. All completed steps for the current job are listed.

    If a step needs to be reworked, select the step and click OK. The original step is marked as Superseded and a copy of the step is added to the step grid. The new step will have a status of New.

  • Enter Event

    The MES Operator Enter Event button used to access the Job Event dialog to record details about the job.

    Displays the Job Event dialog, so that information about the job can be recorded. This dialog allows a more granular description of issues related to a job.

    For the Event Type box, you can enter an event type manually or select an event type that has already been entered from the list.
