System Platform must be configured to use AVEVA Operations Control connected experience. Configuration is done in the System Platform Configurator. Licensing is also configured in the Configurator.
The System Management Server is typically installed and configured on the Application Server Galaxy Repository node. However, if your system includes a dedicated License Server, install the System Management Server on the License Server node.
To configure the System Management Server:
-
From the Windows Start menu, select AVEVA then open the Configurator.
-
In the Configurator, select System Management Server (located under Common Platform in the left pane). You must be a member of the Administrators or aaAdministrators OS group to configure the System Management Server.

If you are prompted for user credentials, enter your user name in the following format:
DomainName\UserNameThe prompt for user credentials may be displayed if you have domain admin privileges but you are not an admin on the local machine.
-
On the node you are configuring as the System Management Server, select the option This machine is the System Management Server.
Important! If you do not configure a System Management Server, data loss, warnings, and error messages will result. System Management is required for connected experience.
-
Under Common Platform, configure the License Mode. The System Management Server must be configured to use AVEVA Operations Control connected experience, as shown below.

-
Under AVEVA Enterprise Licensing, select the License Server by entering its machine name.
-
Configure the License Server as Secure.

-
As you configure other System Platform nodes, select the option Connect to an existing System Management Server and enter the machine of the System Management Server.
