DNS Name |
The name that is used to validate security certificates. When establishing a secure connection between a server and a client, the client needs to confirm that the DNS name specified in the certificate's Subject Alternative Name field matches the name specified for the computer it is connecting to. You need to consider this when configuring the DNS Name for a computer. You can use the following options for a DNS Name.
The DNS Name can only contain alphabetical characters (A-Z or a-z), numeric characters (0-9), the minus sign (-) or period (.). The name cannot start with a period. If you leave the DNS Name field blank, the system will use the value specified in the Topology | Network Addresses | Address property to validate security certificates. This will not work if the Address property is defined as an IP address. Also note that "localhost" or an FQDN are not supported for the Address property. |
