AVEVA™ Plant SCADA

Use an OPC UA Server

OPC (OLE for Process Control) is a set of communication standards maintained by the OPC Foundation for the industrial automation industry. OPC provides a common platform for applications to share data from typically disparate sources, such as PLCs and databases, without the need to comprehend native protocols.

OPC Unified Architecture (OPC UA) is a platform-independent implementation of OPC that supports both client-server and publish-subscribe communication models that adhere to modern security standards.

To use OPC UA with Plant SCADA, you must install an OPC UA Server. This enables the Plant SCADA runtime system to act as a server to OPC UA client applications.
