Use this parameter to specify whether out-of-range engineering unit values (engineering units exceeded) trigger a state transition for analog alarms and timestamped analog alarms.
In early versions of Citect SCADA, out-of-range engineering unit values did not trigger alarm state transitions. In the versions listed below, this behaviour was changed so that state transitions occurred.
Versions with the changed behaviour include:
-
Version 2023
-
Version 2020 R2 Update 01 (February 2022)
-
Version 2018 R2 Update 20 (September 2021)
-
Version 2018 Update 35 (October 2021).
With the release of Plant SCADA 2023 R2 Update 20 (April 2026) and Plant SCADA 2023 Update 32 (April 2026), the original behaviour was reinstated. Out-of-range engineering unit values no longer trigger alarm state transitions.
Set this parameter to zero (0) to retain the behaviour used in the versions listed above.
Allowable Values:
0 - Out-of-range engineering unit values will trigger an alarm state transition.
1 - Out-of-range engineering unit values will not trigger an alarm state transition.
Default Value:
1
