Configure a basic SA_Alarm_RuntimeBanner symbol

The basic configuration of the SA_Alarm_RuntimeBanner symbol shows current alarms from a single ArchestrA area. Only one custom property needs to be assigned an area name as its reference value.

Prerequisites
This procedure explains how to configure a basic symbol using a reference to an ArchestrA Area instance.

You must know the name of an area instance that is collecting current alarm records.
To configure the SA_Alarm_RuntimeBanner symbol

Embed the SA_Alarm_RuntimeBanner symbol in another symbol from the Industrial Graphic Editor.

Select the symbol.

Right-click on the symbol and select Custom Properties from the shortcut menu.

Select the AreaName custom property.

Click the icon to the left of the Default Value field to Static Text mode.
The icon shows the letter T within a square in Static Text mode.

Type the name of an area with the alarms you want to show in the symbol and click OK.

Save the symbol and check it in.

Deploy the Galaxy containing the object with attributes that are used as reference values of the custom properties.

Double-click an instance of InTouch ViewApp to start WindowMaker.

Embed the symbol containing the symbol into an InTouch window.

Run the application in WindowViewer to verify that your basic symbol configuration works correctly.
