A SA_ValueComparisonChart symbol shows up to 10 variables and their associated target values. Variables appear as black balls and their target values are thick horizontal lines aligned with the variables.

ValueComparisonRunning

To configure a basic symbol, you need to assign InTouch tags to the VariableXX and VariableXXTarget custom properties. For the sake of simplicity, this example shows the basic configuration steps using only two variables.

Optional strings can be assigned to the symbol's chart heading, axis descriptions, and legend descriptions using the Substitute Strings feature.

Prerequisites

Create or use existing Real InTouch tags as the reference values to be assigned to the VariableXX and VariableXXTarget custom properties.

To configure a basic SA_ValueComparisonChart symbol

  1. Drag and drop the symbol in a WindowMaker window.

  2. Double-click on the symbol to show the Edit Symbol Properties dialog box.

  3. Select the Wizard options tab and set the NumberofBars Wizard option to Two.

  4. Click the Custom Properties tab to show the default custom properties.

  5. Assign InTouch tags as the reference values of the VariableXX and VariableXXTarget custom properties.

  6. If you want, select WindowMaker's Substitute Strings feature to assign labels to the symbol.

  7. Run the application containing the symbol in WindowViewer to verify that your basic configuration is correct.
