Configure a basic SA_MultiLevelMeter symbol

The basic configuration of the SA_MultiLevelMeter symbol is a TwoAdjacentLevel type of meter oriented vertically, with a descriptive label and numeric measured values that appear next to the two meter bars.

To configure a basic SA_MultiLevelMeter symbol, you only need to assign reference values to the following custom properties and set strings for the symbol's label and engineering units.

  • PV1

  • PV2

  • PVRangeFullScaleMax

  • PVRangeFullScaleMin

Basicmeter

To configure a basic SA_MultiLevelMeter symbol

  1. Drop the SA_MultiLevelMeter symbol in a WindowMaker window or embed it in a symbol from the Industrial Graphic Editor.

  2. Show the default set of Wizard options of the SA_MultiLevelMeter symbol.

    • For standalone applications developed in WindowMaker, double-click the symbol to show the Edit Symbol Properties dialog box. Click the Wizard options tab to show the defaults.

    • For applications developed in the Industrial Graphic Editor, click the embedded SA_MultiLevelMeter symbol to show the list of defaults in the Wizard options list at the right of the canvas.

      You do not need to make any changes to the default Wizard options.

  3. Show the default list of SA_MultiLevelMeter symbol custom properties.

    • From WindowMaker, click the Custom Properties tab to show the default custom properties.

    • From the Industrial Graphic Editor, right-click the symbol and select Custom Properties from the shortcut menu to show the defaults in the Custom Properties dialog box.

  4. Assign reference values to the PV1 and PV2 custom properties.

    • For standalone applications, assign InTouch tagnames to the PV1 and PV2 custom properties.

    • For managed applications, assign object attributes to the PV1 and PV2 custom properties.

  5. Assign static or reference values to the PVRangeFullScaleMax and PVRangeFullScaleMin custom properties.

    These two custom properties set the lower and upper limits of the range on the TwoAdjacentLevel meter bars in which scale marks appear.

  6. Assign string values to the symbol's label and engineering units of its measured value.

    • For standalone applications, right-click the symbol, select Substitute, and select Substitute Strings.

    • For managed applications, right-click the symbol, select Substitute, and select Substitute Strings.

  7. Enter string values for EU and Label.

  8. Run the application containing the SA_MultiLevelMeter symbol in WindowViewer to verify that your configuration changes are correct.
