Normalized

NormalizedSetpointSymbolComponent.

Each spoke of a Polar Star symbol includes a setpoint value. Lines are drawn between setpoints on adjacent spokes to form a polygon around the origin of the spokes.

Polar Star symbols include the NormalizedShape Wizard option to normalize setpoint values. By normalizing setpoint values, the full range of measured values for each spoke of a Polar Star symbol can be standardized with each other. As a result, normalized setpoint values appear as a regular shaped polygon because all setpoints are placed at the midpoint of the spokes. The default is True to normalize setpoints on Polar Star symbols.

When NormalizedShape is set to True, the full scale range of values shown on a spoke is calculated by setting a percentage value around the setpoint with the SpokeXPVOperatingPercent custom property. Also, another range can be set around the setpoint value with the SpokeXVarianceLimitHi custom property that indicates when a measured value is deviating significantly from its setpoint value.

Custom properties

NormalizedShape Wizard option: True

SpokeXPV custom property: Set a reference to a measured value to be shown on spokeX.

SpokeXSP custom property: Assign a setpoint value to spokeX of a Polar Star symbol.

SpokeXPVOperatingPercent custom property: Set an absolute percentage range around the setpoint value that represents the normalized upper and lower limits of a full scale range of measured values on spokeX.

SpokeXVarianceLimitHi custom property: Set an absolute range around the setpoint value that indicates when a measured value deviates significantly from the setpoint.
