The SA_AlarmSeverity symbol includes the Type Wizard option to configure the symbol as an alarm severity indicator or an alarm panel. The two configurations consist of distinctly different symbol components.

Alarm severity indicator

An alarm severity indicator consists of a label and a single row of alarm counts by severity. Each alarm severity includes an identification icon next to the alarm count.

Alarm panel

The SA_AlarmSeverity symbol configured as an alarm panel consists of a vertical list of alarm counts by severity. The left column shows active alarm counts and the right column shows shelved alarm counts. Beneath the alarm severity list are other fields that show the current mode of alarms from an area and the counts of active and unacknowledged alarms.

AlarmPanel1

AlarmPanel2SC

Based on a Wizard option setting, an alarm panel can show a command panel control. During run time, operators can change the alarm mode of an area by selecting another mode from the command panel drop-down list.
