The length of the body symbol component indicates if a valve is discrete or analog. The background color of a short discrete valve body indicates if a valve is closed or open. The background color of a longer analog valve body shows open or closed percentages. Discrete is the default body type.

An analog body can also show invalid data states. The valve body turns black when a valve percentage exceeds 100 percent. A checked background indicates an invalid logic state like both limit switches being closed simultaneously.
