Configure a basic SA_Trend_MultiPen symbol using ArchestrA attributes

The basic configuration of the SA_Trend_MultiPen symbol shows PenA on a trend grid with a five minute vertical time period scale. PenA appears in the pen selector panel. The trend line appears as a StepLine plot with an AutoRange Y axis in a Moving trend period.

To configure a basic SA_Trend_MultiPen symbol, you need to assign a reference value to the PenA custom property and a string value to the PenA_Tagname custom property.

Prerequisites

To follow the steps of this procedure, create ArchestrA objects that meet the following requirements:

  • Create a Double field attribute that will represent the measured value shown as the Pen A trend line.

  • Create an InTouch application with a window to verify that the symbol has been configured correctly.

To configure a basic SA_Trend_MultiPen symbol using ArchestrA attributes

  1. Embed the symbol in another symbol in the Industrial Graphic Editor.

  2. Select the symbol.

  3. Right-click on the symbol and select Custom Properties from the shortcut menu to show the Custom Properties dialog box.

  4. Select the PenA custom property from the list and click the Galaxy Browser button to the right of the Default Value field.

  5. Assign an attribute as the reference value of the PenA custom property and click OK.

  6. Assign a string value to the PenA_Tagname custom property.

  7. Save the symbol and check it in.

  8. If necessary, deploy the Galaxy containing the object whose attributes are used as reference values of the custom properties.

  9. Double-click an instanced of InTouch ViewApp to start WindowMaker.

  10. Create a new InTouch window and embed the symbol containing the SA_Trend_MultiPen symbol.

  11. Run the application in WindowViewer to verify that your basic symbol configuration works correctly.
