Configure a basic SA_InvisibleProfileMeter symbol using InTouch tags

The basic configuration of the SA_InvisibleProfileMeter symbol shows alarm limit indicators without a meter bar. Although a measured value must be configured, it does not appear when the basic configuration of the symbol runs by itself.

Typically, this symbol works with the SA_MeterConnector symbol. which is a connector line drawn between two adjacent SA_InvisibleProfile meters. The endpoints of connector line show the position of the measured values on each SA_InvisibibleProfileMeter symbol.

To configure a basic SA_InvisibleProfileMeter symbol, you need to assign InTouch tags or static values to the following custom properties.

• AlarmHiHiLimit

• AlarmHiLimit

• AlarmLoLimit

• AlarmLoLoLimit

• PV

• PVRangeFullScaleMax

• PVRangeFullScaleMin

Prerequisites

This procedure explains how to configure a basic SA_InvisibleProfileMeter symbol using references to an InTouch tag with dotfields.

• To follow the steps of this procedure, create an InTouch tag that meets the following requirements:

  • I/O Real tag named PV

  • Enable LoLo, Lo, Hi, and HiHi alarm limits with alarm values on the tag

• Create an InTouch application with a window to verify that the symbol has been configured correctly.

To configure a basic SA_InvisibleProfileMeter symbol using InTouch tags

1. Drop the symbol in a WindowMaker window.

2. Double-click on the symbol to show the Edit Symbol Properties dialog box.

3. Click the Custom Properties tab to show the default custom properties.

4. Click the Browse Galaxy button to the right of the Default Value field

5. Assign the PV InTouch tag as the reference value of the PV custom property.

6. Assign static values or InTouch tag dotfields to the PVRangeFullScaleMax and PVRangeFullScaleMin custom properties.

   These two custom properties set the maximum and minimum limits of the meter's range of values. The dotfield names are MaxEU and MinEU.

7. Assign static values or InTouch tags to the four alarm limit indicators and click OK.

8. Save your changes.

9. Run the application containing the SA_InvisibleProfileMeter symbol in WindowViewer to verify that your configuration changes are correct.
