Configure a basic SA_GainLossChart symbol using InTouch tags

The basic configuration of a SA_GainLossChart_Pairs symbol shows a chart consisting of 10 chart bars oriented vertically. Each chart bar contains paired measured values that represent gains and losses. The symbol shows a chart heading and descriptions of the horizontal and vertical chart axes.

For the sake of simplicity, this procedure shows how to configure a simple chart symbol consisting of only two gain/loss chart bars.

Note: Chart bars that show gain values have a white background. If necessary, place a non-white background behind the symbol to provide contrast to see the chart bars.

Prerequisites

This procedure explains how to configure a basic symbol using references to InTouch tags

  • To follow the steps of this procedure, create four InTouch Memory Real tags.

  • Create an InTouch application with a window to verify that the symbol has been configured correctly.

To configure a basic SA_GainLossChart symbol using InTouch tags

  1. Drag and drop the symbol in a WindowMaker window.

  2. Double-click on the symbol to show the Edit Symbol Properties dialog box.

  3. Click the Wizard options tab and set NumberOfBars to Two.

  4. Click the Custom Properties tab to show the default custom properties.

  5. Assign InTouch tags to the Bar01Gain and Bar01Loss custom properties.

    1. Select Bar01Gain from the list of custom properties.

    2. Click the Browse Galaxy button to the right of the Default Value field to show the Select Tag dialog box.

    3. Assign an InTouch tag as the reference value of the Bar01Gain custom property.

    4. Repeat steps a-c to assign another InTouch tag as the reference value of the Bar01Loss custom property.

  6. Repeat steps 5a through 5d for the Bar02Gain and Bar02Loss custom properties.

  7. Save your changes.

  8. Run the application containing the SA_GainLossChart symbol in WindowViewer to verify that your configuration changes are correct.
