Dashboard symbols use a repetitive set of custom properties for variables or other repetitive visual elements shown in a symbol. The custom properties are listed by their assigned variable number in WindowMaker and the Industrial Graphic Editor. For example, the SA_TargetGraph symbol includes the Tolerance custom property, and one to five variable custom properties (Variable1 to Variable5) and corresponding setpoint custom properties (Setpoint1 to Setpoint5) to associate a measured value to each variable and setpoint shown in the symbol's chart.

A single description describes each repetitive Dashboard symbol's custom property. The X character in the custom property description denotes a number in the custom property name, which indicates the description is appropriate for all similarly named custom properties.
