Configure a basic SA_Valve_And_Damper symbol using ArchestrA attributes

The basic configuration of a SA_Valve_And_Damper symbol is a discrete valve oriented horizontally with a MOV actuator. A Wizard option and two custom properties need to be configured to detect the symbol's open and closed valve actuator states.

Prerequisites
To follow the steps of this procedure, create an ArchestrA object that meet the following requirements:

Create two Boolean field attributes to indicate the positions of the symbol's limit switches.

Create an InTouch application with a window to verify that the symbol has been configured correctly.
To configure a basic SA_Valve_And_Damper symbol using ArchestrA attributes

Embed the symbol in another symbol in the Industrial Graphic Editor.

Select the symbol.

In the Wizard options area of the Industrial Graphic Editor, select LimitSwitches and set the the Dual option.

Right-click on the symbol and select Custom Properties from the shortcut menu to show the Custom Properties dialog box.

Select the LimitSwitchClosed custom property from the list and click the Galaxy Browser button to the right of the Default Value field.Click the Attribute Browser tab and select an attribute from the list to assign to the custom property.

Assign a Boolean reference value to the LimitSwitchOpen custom property and click OK.

If you want, assign an optional string to the symbol's label.

Right-click on the symbol, select Substitute, and then select Substitute Strings.

Enter strings for the different labels and click OK.

Save the symbol and check it in.

If necessary, deploy the Galaxy containing the object with attributes that are used as reference values of the custom properties.

Double-click an instance of InTouch ViewApp to start WindowMaker.

Create a new InTouch window and embed the symbol containing the symbol.

Run the application in WindowViewer to verify that your basic symbol configuration works correctly.
