Discrete valve commands control the position of valve actuators that operate against discrete valve bodies. A discrete valve can be either OPEN or CLOSED; there is no other stable position.

The DiscreteCmdType Wizard option provides options to support a set of discrete valve commands:

  • None: No actuator commands are supported.

  • SingleCmd: Command to open the valve actuator.

  • DualCmd: Both valve actuator open and closed commands are supported.

When the AdvancedStatusIndicators Wizard option is set to True, a small triangle appears on the border of the valve's head when a request state command is submitted. In the case of symbols placed into DualCmd mode, the triangle is placed is placed on either side of the symbol's head to indicate active or passive request commands.
