Get models
AVEVA Unified Supply Chain always starts in the Model Explorer. The Supply Chain Models tab shows all the shares you have access to on the server. Double click a share name, or click the corresponding arrow icon, to show the list of supply chain models held in the share. When you select one or more models, a Get from server button appears in the area to the right of the model list. Click this button to download the selected models from the server to your local database.

See Select Models for how to select multiple models at once. Another way to download more than one model at a time is the following:
-
Click the Sync Settings button in the Sharing group of the Home ribbon tab. The Synchronisation Settings dialog box opens.
-
Select the data items you want to download. You can select individual models or whole shares. Select All Shares to download all the data you have access to. This could take a considerable time, depending on your permissions and the database size.
-
Click OK to close the Synchronisation Settings dialog box.
-
Click Get in the Sharing group of the Home ribbon tab. The models you have selected are downloaded to your local database.

Copy model

Work is often performed in your private share, an area only you can see. If you want to work on models for which you do not have permission to edit, you must create a copy first.
To allow other users to see your work you must move the model to a public share. After doing this everyone with permission to this public share will be able to see and run the model.
-
Review and edit

You can edit any aspect of a model in your private share. To edit the model, open the appropriate case. This example shows a planning case.

In the planning environment, check that the case can optimize by clicking the Run button. It may be helpful to open the Solution Metrics window to understand the solution.

Use the Constraints and Alerts page to change the problem. For example, change one of the maximum constraints.

After changing the problem you must re-run the optimization to update the solution; after optimization review the new metrics and solution value.
-
Commit workspace
Close the planning environment to return to the Model Explorer.

Click Commit to upload your changes to the central server. If you have changed the share, commit also moves the model so that other users can see it.

In the Commit dialog, select the model and review the data that will be committed by clicking View under Changes. Click the Commit button to actually perform the operation.
-
Compare workspace

To understand what has changed in a model you can use Update Case. This compares two models and shows their differences. Select the master case of your model and click Update Case.

In the Update Case dialog choose the original model that you copied as the source and compare the changes that you made relative to this original version.
