Inspect assets

Properties

Shows the type, name and description of an asset, and the number of inputs and outputs. For pipes it shows the source and destination assets.

Materials

Shows key properties of the material flowing through a pipe for each mode.

Modes

Shows a summary of the operational modes defined for a process unit. Available for any asset that is capable of acting in a modal fashion (distillation, Base + Delta or manifold-type units). You cannot edit modes in this window, and must instead add or remove them on the Modes page. You can however change the modal routing configuration, to control the upstream units feeding into particular modes.

Flow Summary

Shows the amount of material flowing into and out of the unit, in weight and volume terms, where this information is available. Also shown is the overall balance for the unit. If a unit has multiple modes, the total and individual modal flows are shown.

Pipe Flows

Shows the amount of material flowing through each input and output pipe to the process unit. By default, the total flow through all pipes in all modes is shown. Exclude individual modes by deselecting them from the Modes list.

Stream Values

Shows the stream value of the material in the pipe. If the pipe contains multiple materials, the stream values of the individual components are shown.

Distillation Parameters (Oil and Gas only)

Shows the cut points and fractionation indices associated with each cut in a distillation unit. You can edit the parameters.

Stream Composition (Oil and Gas only)

Shows the amount of each crude in a pipe relative to the pipe flow. Only available when a pipe originating from a distillation unit is selected.

If a distillation unit has multiple operating modes, by default the composition mode shows the flow in the pipe averaged across all the modes. To change the modes displayed in the grid, use the Modes list box to select those modes to show.

Stream Associations

Shows the associations between flowsheet pipes and model connections. Only available for assets with associated process models (that is, distillation and Base Delta-based units).

Use this Inspector Window to change the associations between pipes and model connections, and also configure fixed material overrides for particular flowsheet pipes.
