Remove overrides

The Show Contents dialog, with the mouse pointer on the Reset to reference data entry of the context menu for a data item

You can remove all the overrides set for an item of a supply chain model, thus reverting all affected data items to the original reference data values:

  1. Select the model in the Supply Chain Models tab of the Model Explorer.

  2. Click Show Contents in the Supply Chain Models group of the Home ribbon tab. The Show Contents pane opens.

  3. Right-click anywhere on the item from which you want to remove overrides, and choose Reset to reference data from the context menu.

  4. Click Yes in the confirmation dialog.

Create a global versioned copy of a workspace item

Certain items, such as process models or feedstock definitions, can be created within a supply chain model, and are initially available only within that model. When you commit the model to the server, the item you created in the model becomes visible to other users too.

You also have the option to create a global versioned copy of the item, which can be shared through the Model Explorer. The global copy of the item therefore becomes an independent object outside the original supply chain model.

To create a global versioned copy of an item follow these steps:

  1. In the Supply Chain Models tab of the Model Explorer, select the model containing the local object.

  2. Click the Show Contents button in the Supply Chain Models group of the Home ribbon tab.

  3. Select the local object in the Show Contents dialog and click the right mouse button.

  4. Choose Create New Versioned Object from the context menu. The Copy Specification dialog box opens.

  5. Enter a Name and Description for the object and choose the Target Share where the object should be saved.

Warning: When you create a global object, you create a brand new object with a unique identifier, identical to the local object. Any updates to the global object in other models or in the Model Explorer will not affect the original local object. If you want these updates to be reflected in your supply chain model, you should replace the local object in the model with the newly created global object.
