View a map of your network

This feature is available only if you have a valid Spiral Network license.

To view a map of your network, click the Map button in the Views group of the Home ribbon tab. The map shows the nodes defined in the case and their connections.

Note: Only nodes are shown on the map, not locations. You must associate at least one node with a place for it to be visible on the map.
To see links between nodes there must be a transport link between those nodes.
The geographic position of nodes is determined by their location. To appear in the
correct place, each node must have an associated location with defined coordinates.
Map display and navigation options

Click the buttons in the toolbar at the top of the map to do the following:

Choose between Select mode for navigating, or Filter mode for information display. When the map mode is set to Filter, information on other pages is filtered according to the element selected on the map. For example:

Clicking a supply node shows the supplies at that node on the Supplies page.

Clicking a supply demand shows the demands at that node on the Demands page.

Clicking a transport link shows the supplies or demands at either end of the link, or the actual link on the Transport Links page.

Select the type of map to show. You can choose to display just country borders, borders and country names or borders and location names.

Display the overlay Controls bar showing the zoom controls and the coordinates at the mouse pointer position.

Display the Charts pane, offering more information on the selected items.

Display a Legend showing the symbols used in the map.

Open the Find dialog box to locate nodes and other elements on the map.
To zoom the map, do either of the following:

Press the + and - keys on the number keypad of your keyboard.

Rotate the mouse scroll wheel.
To pan the map, do either of the following:

Press the arrow keys on your keyboard.

Hold the left mouse button and drag the mouse pointer.
Use charts to view case results

The Charts pane shows the case results for items on the map. Change the item shown on the charts by selecting the relevant node on the map.

The Supplies chart shows the amount of each supply across its active periods.
-
The Demands chart shows the amount of each demand across its active periods.

The Transport Links chart shows the amount carried by each transport link across its active periods. If a link can carry more than one traded material, these materials are shown in the charts.

The Terminals chart shows the inventories at the selected terminal. If a terminal can handle multiple inventories, these are shown in the charts.

The Plants chart shows the inventories at the selected plant on the charts.
