Manifolds

  • Last UpdatedAug 11, 2025

The Manifolds page shows the manifolds configured in the model. These must be present in the standard plant flowsheet.

On this page, you can set the default flow rate for each manifold, as well as ranges outside which warning and error alerts are issued. When a range defined on this page is violated, a message appears in the Diagnostics window, and the cells corresponding to the manifold flow rate turn yellow (for warnings) or red (for errors) in the Tabular pane.

Add, delete and rename manifolds

You can add, delete and rename manifolds in your Schedule case topology even if they are not in the original Plan topology.

To add a manifold:

  1. Go to the Manifolds page.

  2. Click Add Manifold in the Assets group of the Home ribbon tab. The Add Manifold dialog box opens.

  3. Enter a unique name for the new manifold.

  4. Click Add. The new manifold is added to the table.

  5. Configure the new manifold by editing its properties in the table, and setting connections in the Topology page.

To delete one or more manifolds that have been added in Schedule:

  1. In the Manifolds page, select the manifolds you want to delete. Selecting a cell in the corresponding table row is enough to select the manifold.

  2. Click Delete Manifold in the Assets group of the Home ribbon tab. The selected manifolds are deleted.

    To rename a manifold:

    1. In the Manifolds page, select the manifold you want to rename. Selecting a cell in the corresponding table row is enough to select the manifold.

    2. Click Rename Manifold in the Assets group of the Home ribbon tab. The Rename Manifold dialog opens.

    3. Enter the new name and click Rename.

You cannot delete or rename manifolds that are part of the original Plan topology.

Tip: You can also add, delete and rename manifolds and other asset types from the Topology page.

Manifolds added in Schedule have an information icon Information icon next to their name, with the icon tooltip showing the manifold name followed by (added in Schedule).

      Configuration for blend feed manifolds

Make sure the Blend feed manifold support optional feature is enabled to let blends manage the configuration of the manifolds feeding them.

The feature is enabled by default.

When this feature is enabled, a blend applies an effective configuration to the feed manifold, overriding its default configuration for the duration of the blend. This has several advantages:

      • When creating a blend, the underlying manifold configuration remains unchanged. The manifold configuration no longer splits.

      • Moving a blend to a different time does not require changes to the manifold configuration, since the effective configuration now moves with the blend.

Multiple overlapping blends no longer interfere with each other. There is no risk of data loss from one blend overwriting the manifold configuration.
