AVEVA Unified Supply Chain is a planning, optimization and simulation tool, using successive non-linear programming optimization to find the most profitable method of operating your plant.
AVEVA Unified Supply Chain is available as desktop application for Microsoft Windows.
Plants are represented by models containing the available process units and their connections. Each process unit is linked to a Base + Delta or distillation model to simulate its operations. Feedstocks can then be run through these models to calculate the performance of the plant.
The flow of material around the plant is defined using a flowsheet. This includes the process units and the connections between these units.
Different operational configurations are simulated using cases. Cases allow you to model different configurations, such as changes in feedstock, or the removal of a particular unit from the standard operations.

AVEVA Unified Supply Chain is made of several environments:
-
The Model Explorer Environment is used to manage models and their settings. For example, the Model Explorer can be used to review the last modified date for models and each model's description.
-
The Planning Environment is used to define the settings in an AVEVA Unified Supply Chain model, that is, all the parameters used by the process unit models to simulate the plant's operations.
-
The Scheduling Environment is used to build and maintain scheduling models.
-
The Network Environment is used to build and maintain multi-plant multi-period models for optimization of logistics and production across multiple locations and multiple time frames.
-
Case Stacking is used to set up alternative scenarios within AVEVA Unified Supply Chain, allowing different alternatives to be evaluated and compared. The main uses of case stacking are:
-
Scenario Analysis: comparing different operating conditions and their effect on plant operations.
-
Multi-Period Analysis: setting up different points in time and optimizing operations and inventories between these points.
-
-
Analytics are used to automate scenario generation in AVEVA Unified Supply Chain. Analytics automatically set up many different cases, allowing you to quickly explore business problems and review results from many alternatives.
