AVEVA™ Unified Supply Chain

Update model objects

  • 2 minute read

Supply chain models in AVEVA Unified Supply Chain use shared objects, such as process unit models, which may be maintained by other users. The supply chain model may also use feedstock assays, which may be maintained by a different user.

When a supply chain model is created, a copy of each shared object is included within the supply chain model. When the original shared object is updated, the copy in the supply chain model is not affected, and therefore is no longer up to date.

To synchronize the supply chain model with the latest shared objects, run the Model Update Wizard. This detects which shared objects are out of date and allows you to choose whether to replace the old copy with the updated object.

Follow these steps to run the update wizard.

  1. Select the supply chain model

Part of the Supply Chain Models tab of the Model Explorer, with the Corsicana model selected

Select the supply chain model to update. This can be a local model, or a shared model that you have checked out for editing.

  2. Update model

The Supply Chain Models ribbon group of the Model Explorer with the mouse pointer over the Update Model button

Click the Update Model button in the Supply Chain Models group of the Home ribbon tab.

Note: The Update Reference Data button in the Cases group updates global reference data based on the local overrides made in the model. In other words, it lets you accept any local overrides as final.

  3. Start wizard

The title page of the Model Update Wizard

The Model Update Wizard guides you through the update of the model. Click Next to check for objects in the model which have updated versions on the server.

  4. Review updates

A step of the Model Update Wizard with a list of updates selected via checkboxes

Review the list of objects which have updated versions on the server. Select the check box in the Update column for each object you want to update. Click Next.

  5. Finish wizard

The last step of the Model Update Wizard with the list of applied updates and the Result column showing Success for each update

The supply chain model objects are updated. Click Finish to close the wizard.
