AVEVA™ Unified Supply Chain

Inspect your exports

  • Last UpdatedAug 11, 2025
  • 6 minute read

To show an export's properties, navigate to the Display page and click Inspectors >  Export Inspector from the Home ribbon tab. Then, in the Tabular grid, select any of the properties associated with the export (such as the vessel name, amount, or transfers associated with the export), or in the Gantt pane, click the bar of the export, in the relevant feed row. The export Inspector will show you the specific values you're interested in.

The specific properties the Export Inspector shows can be customized by right-clicking and selecting Customize Layout (see Customize the Import Inspector for step-by-step instructions).

The size, position and internal layout of the Inspector are preserved across sessions. These properties are preserved when you close and reopen the Inspector, or Schedule. You do not need to save your case explicitly.

The internal layout properties that are preserved include the following:

  • The size and expanded/collapsed state of panes.

  • The size and position of columns for advanced grids. The settings of legacy Grids are not supported.

The size and position of the Inspectors are preserved separately for each Display. You do not need to enter the Edit Mode of a Display for these settings to be preserved.

If you get a new version of a Display via the Synchronize pane, the local settings for the size and position of the Inspectors are overwritten.

The properties that can be displayed in the Export Inspector are described in the next sections.

Item

Description

Start

The date and time the export will arrive (the start of the laycan period).

End

The date and time the export must depart by (the end of the laycan period).

Clicking the Update End date/time to discharge end sets the depart time of the export to the current end time of the associated discharge activity.

Cargo

The Cargo pane shows the Total Amount of material in the cargo, and allows you to add and remove feedstocks.

Embedded Image (65% Scaling) (LIVE)

To add or remove a feedstock:

  1. Select the feedstock grade from the drop-down menu (Select Feedstocks).

  2. Click the Plus button button to add the feedstock, or the Delete button button to remove it.

The table in the bottom half of the pane shows the feedstocks currently part of the cargo.

    Item

    Description

    Grade

The grade of the stored feedstock. You can choose another grade by clicking the arrow at the right end of the cell.

    Parcel

The cargo parcel corresponding to the feedstock.

    Amount

The amount of feedstock in the cargo, in the same unit of measure as the Total Amount field.

Filling

The Filling pane shows details of the filling of the cargo with material from one or more source assets.

Embedded Image (65% Scaling) (LIVE)

The colored bar at the top of the pane shows the filling status in the current schedule simulation:

  • Not drawn: no material has been transferred to the cargo.

  • Remaining: quantity: part of the material has not been transferred to the cargo.

  • Complete: all the material has been transferred to the cargo.

The following controls allow you to customize the filling:

  • Begin Filling Delay: the amount of time between the arrival of the cargo and the beginning of the filling operation.

  • Use Attached Rules: use any rules attached to the departure asset to create transfer activities.

  • Apply Rule: click this button to open the Apply Rule dialog. This allows you to apply an existing rule to generate transfer activities.

  • Generate Liftings: click this button to open the Generate Liftings dialog. This allows you to automatically create the blend and activities needed to assign the right materials to the cargo parcels.

The table in the bottom half of the pane shows the details of each material transfer.

    Item

    Description

    Type

    The type of activity:

    • Manual activity if the transfer activity is manually generated and the source is a tank.

    • ManifoldActivity if the transfer activity is manually generated and the source is a manifold (only if the Product lifting manifold support optional feature is enabled).

    • Simulation-generated activity if he transfer activity is simulation generated. The row is read only in this case.

    • Rule-generated activity if the transfer activity is rule generated. The row is read only in this case.

    Order

The order in which transfers are executed.

    Parcel

The cargo parcel into which material is transferred.

    Grade

The grade of the material being transferred.

    Source

The source asset from which material is being transferred. This is coloured yellow or red if the asset is affected by a warning or error condition. Hover your mouse pointer on the cell to display a tooltip with the error message.

The source asset can be a tank. It can also be a manifold if the Product lifting manifold support optional feature is enabled. Note that this feature is designed to work with the manifold configuration set to give zero flow to the export feed.

The default is for the Product lifting manifold support optional feature to be disabled.

    Amount

The amount of material to be transferred.

    UoM

The unit of measure (for the amount of material, transfer rate, and inventory, as appropriate).

    Rate

    The rate of material transfer.

    Inventory (End)

The inventory of the source asset after the material has been transferred.

    Delay

The time delay between operations (if applicable).

To remove a transfer, click the icon at the right end of the corresponding row.

You can add a new transfer using the blank row at the bottom of the table. Either:

  • Click the icon at the right end of the row to automatically fill the cells with values. You can then edit individual values.

  • Click the arrow button in the Source cell to reveal a list of sources. Click the option button next to your chosen source and click OK. The rest of the row is filled accordingly.

It is recommended to set the simulation mode to Automatic when working on filling exports, so that the schedule and all the elements of the user interface update in real time following your changes, without getting into an inconsistent state.

To quickly configure the transfer activity so that it draws from the source asset until its working minimum is reached, or until the cargo parcel is full, right click on the transfer row and choose Draw max available from <asset name> from the context menu.

Qualities

The Qualities pane shows the values of some key properties for the products in each cargo parcel. Next to each product is a column with the specifications of the corresponding grade. Any properties violating the specification are highlighted in the table.

Linked import

The Linked Import pane allows you to add an import linked to this export. This is useful if you want to represent transfer of material between two terminals of your plant. Material leaves a terminal as an export and reaches another terminal as the linked import.

To create a linked import, click the Create button. You can then configure the import using the fields. For example, Delay is the delay between the export departure time and the linked import arrival time.
