In order for streams to have a value associated with them they must be sent the Sales pool. Once added to the Sales pool the stream can have a price associated with it which will be used in all calculations.

  1. Select the pipe and direct to Sales

The context menu for a pipe on the flowsheet canvas, with the mouse pointer on the Sales entry of the Send To submenu

On the Flowsheet, select the pipe which carries the stream that should be sold as a product, right-click the pipe and choose Send to > Sales from the context menu.

  2. Select required grade

The Send To Sales dialog, with a list of grades to choose from

In the Send To Sales dialog choose the grade to sell the material as. This grade must be configured in the Model Explorer or in the case.

If the grade is not present in the products grid, a new product is automatically added. If the grade is already present in the Products grid, the output of this stream is associated with this product.

Any grades already sent to sales are automatically hidden. Clear the Hide sold Grades check box if you want to see them. Sold grades become visible, but appear dimmed and cannot be selected.

  3. Enter sale price and any constraints

The Products tab of the Sales page, showing products for sales with prices and constraints

On the Sales page, enter the sales price and any limits for the sale amounts.

Tip: Why can't I see a product in the Send To Sales dialog?
In order to be sold, a material must be associated with a Grade. Each grade is associated with a particular Traded Material, and this in turn is associated with a Material Type. Each of these must be correctly configured before a material can be sold.
Grades can be added as standard reference data or added to the current supply chain model.
