AVEVA™ Unified Supply Chain

Support for gas streams

  • Last UpdatedAug 11, 2025
  • 3 minute read

Support for gas streams is available, in addition to liquid streams. You identify a stream as gas by defining the new Gas Specific Volume property for the stream.

Restrictions

Note the following restrictions of this feature:

  • Support for gas streams works for weight-based models only. Support for volume-based models will be added in a future release.

  • You cannot configure gas streams for distillation units.

  • You cannot send gas streams to a blender. This results in an error diagnostic message.

  • Stream values are not available for gas streams.

Units of measure

All the necessary units of measure have been created to cover gas amounts, specific volumes, flows and prices. Units are based either on SCFg (Standard Cubit Feet for gas) or nm3 (normal cubic meters).

The following table shows the new units of measure and unit categories:

Flowsheet support

The Flowsheet page has been updated to fully support gas streams:

  • In the Flowsheet group of the Home ribbon tab, the new Gas Flow list lets you choose the default unit of measure for gas flows.

  • In the Flow Summary inspector, the Volume (Gas) column has been added.

  • In the Materials inspector, the Gas Flow row appears when relevant.

  • In the Pipe Flows inspector, Volume (Gas) columns have been added for Flow and Yield.

Watch items support

In the Watch window, the Object Browser Options tab of the Object Browser pane lists Gas Flows as an option. You can choose to show gas flows for any stream, in your desired units, and the corresponding cells remain blank for liquid flow streams.
