AVEVA™ Unified Supply Chain

Prepare the schedule

Before opening Schedule AI Assistant, make sure you follow these steps in the desktop scheduling environment to prepare your scheduling case.

  1. Review constraints

Review and update constraints in the following pages of the scheduling environment, found under Asset Configuration in the left-hand pane. See the Note below for limitations.

    • Feeds: constraints on feed and draw rates.

    • Pipelines: constraints on flow rates.

    • Process Units: constraints on flow rates and property values.

    • Manifolds: constraints on flow rates.

    • Tanks: constraints on inventories, feed and draw rates, and property values.

The Asset Configuration section in the Schedule left-hand pane

Schedule AI Assistant will take into account these constraints when searching for schedules.

Note: Composition constraints for tanks are not passed from your scheduling case to Schedule AI Assistant. Use the Crude Composition Constraints advanced feature in Schedule AI Assistant instead.
Constraints on non-modeled properties will cause errors in Schedule AI Assistant. Before adding a property constraint to the Asset Configuration pages in the Schedule environment, ensure that the property is modeled in the corresponding master case.

  2. Remove mid-schedule overrides

Only the overrides defined as part of the baseline at the beginning of the scheduling period are passed to Schedule AI Assistant. Overrides from elsewhere in the schedule are not taken into account, which is likely to cause unexpected simulation results and diagnostics errors after the resulting schedule is applied to the scheduling case. Ensure that all such overrides are removed from the case.

  3. Add outages

Add any asset outages in the Gantt pane of the Display page. For more information, see the Schedule > Set Up your Schedule > Outages topic in the help for the AVEVA Unified Supply Chain desktop application.

Schedule AI Assistant will take into account these outages when searching for schedules.

  4. Simulate the schedule

If your simulation method is set to Manual, simulate the schedule. Make sure that all the assets you want to include in the search for schedules are present in the selected Display.

The Simulation ribbon group with the mouse cursor on the Simulate button

Once the simulation is complete, you can proceed to search for schedules.
