Sale priorities

Define priorities for tranches of product or utility sales if you want the optimizer to consider selling tranches of a product or utility in a specific order, even if this results in a lower objective function.

Setting a priority on a sale without distinct tranches has no effect on the optimization.

To set a priority for a tranche in the Products or Utilities tab:

  1. Make sure that the Solution value for the sale is not locked.

  2. Make sure there are no minimum or fixed constraints active for the sale. The optimization fails with an error otherwise.

  3. Enter an integer number in the Priority column for the sale. A lower number corresponds to a higher priority: a tranche with priority 1 is sold before a tranche with priority 2, and so on.

  4. For utility sales only, define and activate a maximum constraint for the utility. The optimization fails with an error if a priority is defined without an active maximum constraint.
