Feedstock reduction

In the feedstock reduction workflow, each crude in the base blend is removed, with no new crudes replacing it. Therefore, the plant capacity must be satisfied by the remaining crudes in the base blend.
-
Set up base blend
Configure the base blend so that only crudes which have non-zero purchase amounts are active.
Since the majority of crudes will be inactive and unavailable for purchase, reduce purchase constraints on the available crudes.

-
Set up base blend candidates
Configure your candidates so that only the base blend crudes are included in the candidate list. Make sure these crudes are active, but also deactivate their base blend column check box.

-
Configure base blend candidate amounts
Ensure the candidate crude amounts are set to 0, because if the base blend column is deactivated, a run will be performed where the candidate is removed from the base blend. However, to enable this run to occur, you must allow the case to be active. Setting the fixed amount to 0 performs the run, but disallows the crude for purchase.

Check purchase amounts
Go to the Stack View page to examine the purchase amounts. Check that the crudes have been removed as expected in each run.

Go to the Crude Mix Chart page to compare the crude mix between runs. As shown by the following figure, the candidate crude in each run is absent from the crude mix, as expected.
