Displays are saved configurations of any number of panes, such as Gantt views, charts, inspectors and so on. Displays store the size and position of each pane, along with other information such as the zoom level and whether a pane is docked or not. You can have multiple copies of a particular pane, and position your panes across multiple monitors.
Displays allow you to save the optimal user interface configuration for each workflow. You can access Displays from the Display page in the left pane. To switch to a particular Display, select it from the Display list in the Displays group of the Home ribbon tab.

Set up a new display
-
Add new display

Click the Add button in the Displays group of the Home ribbon tab to create a new Display.
-
Edit display name

Enter a name for the Display. When you click OK, a new empty Display is created. You automatically enter edit mode, which means that the Displays contextual ribbon tab appears.
Tip: Displays are saved within the scheduling workspace and so are available to all users. Consider your naming conventions thinking of other users. When configuring Displays, ensure that the Display will function correctly if users have other display configurations; for example, do other users have different screen resolutions or number of monitors?
-
Add and configure panes

Select the panes to add from the Panes group of the Displays contextual ribbon tab. Configure the settings of a pane when needed. For example, choose the relevant view for Tabular and Gantt panes.
-
Resize and reposition panes

Resize and move panes, either docking them to the current window structure or leaving them floating. Dock state and pane position and size are saved in the Display configuration. It is possible to have multiple panes of the same type in a single Display; for example, you may wish to have two Tabular views.
-
Set changes as default

Click Set Default in the Displays group of the Home ribbon tab. The new Display is saved.
Edit displays
There are two ways to edit Displays:
-
You can make local changes specific to your AVEVA Unified Supply Chain installation. The changes are visible to any of your profiles with access to the model, but not to other users.
-
You can make global changes which are committed to the server and become visible to all other users who have access to the model.
Making local changes is a good way to adapt a Display to your workflow, without disrupting other users who may have different requirements and hardware configurations. Note however that local changes are undone whenever you reset a Display.
The following steps cover both local and global changes to a Display:
-
Select the Display you want to edit from the Display drop-down menu in the Displays group of the Home ribbon tab. The selected Display opens.
-
Configure the Display by adding, removing, repositioning and resizing panes. For more details, see Set Up a New Display. Note that you can add several panes of the same type (for instance, several Gantt panes). Displays also support positioning panes across multiple monitors.
-
If you have been making global changes, click Set Default in the Displays group of the Displays contextual ribbon tab.
Remember to commit the model to server so that other users can get your changes.
Tip: If you have been making local changes to a Display, and later wish to turn them into global changes, open the Display and click the Set Default button in the Displays group of the Home ribbon tab. Your changes will be shared with other users when you commit the model.
Share local display changes between models
If you create a copy of a model, then any local changes to Displays in one model are reflected in the copy. Local Display edits are shared between the two models.
Note that this does not apply to global changes. Display changes committed to the server are not shared between a model and its copies.
This also does not apply to copies of a Schedule case within a model. If you create a copy of a Schedule case in the same model, the Displays in the original case and in the copy are independent. Changes in one case do not affect the other case.
Sharing local Display changes between models can be useful if you have multiple copies of a model and want to save time by making your local edits only once. However, you may want to decouple a Schedule case in a model so that it is no longer affected by local Display edits in other models. Follow these steps:
-
Create a copy of the Schedule case you want to decouple, in the same model and at the same level in the hierarchy.
-
Delete the original case and rename the copy to the original name. Displays in the copy are now independent from Displays in other models.
Delete displays
To delete a Display:
-
Select the Display you want to delete from the Display drop-down menu in the Displays group of the Home ribbon tab. The selected Display opens.
-
Click Delete in the Displays group of the Home ribbon tab. Click Yes in the confirmation dialog. The active Display is deleted.
Reset displays
To reset the current Display to its default configuration, click the Reset button in the Displays group of the Home ribbon tab. After you confirm your choice, the Display is set to the last configuration set as default, and all changes done since then are lost.
