When you publish data, you apply the changes you made in the Excel sheet to the staging service.
To publish your changes, click the Publish All button in the Connections group of the AVEVA™ USC Schedule ribbon tab.
There are two options for this command. To reveal them, click the lower part of the button to open a menu with the following choices:
-
Publish All: publishes data in all the sheets of the workbook. This is the default option.
-
Publish: publishes data in the current sheet only.
When publishing import and export data, follow these rules for items in the New Material column:
-
Imports must be in the form <Traded Material> (<Reference>), for example Arab Light (ARBL91A). You can omit the reference and use just <Traded Material> when a traded material is uniquely identified by its name. There cannot be parentheses in the reference.
-
Exports must be in the form <Grade> (<Traded Material>), for example Gasoline Premium Summer (Gasoline). You can omit the traded material and use just <Grade>. There cannot be parentheses in the traded material name. If there are parentheses in the grade name, you cannot use the grade name alone and must include the traded material name.
As explained above, in some case you cannot publish imports or exports to a staging database via the Excel Add-In if there are parentheses in the traded material reference or name. In this case you can use the Staging API instead. Please contact AVEVA Support for more information.
Warning: When using Publish All to publish data to the staging database, use a single worksheet for each data type (measurements and imports/exports). Having multiple worksheets for the same data type (for example, two worksheets with measurement data) and publishing them at once could result in incorrect values being stored in the database.
