Most grids in AVEVA Unified Supply Chain offer advanced features for organizing, filtering and searching their contents. You access these advanced features from a Grid ribbon menu, or from a toolbar with equivalent controls.
Manage rows
Edit rows. To edit a text field in a row, click on the corresponding cell and start typing. Note that some cells are not text fields, but lists of predefined values which you can choose via a drop-down menu.
Select rows. To select a range of contiguous rows, follow these steps:
-
Click on the row at one end of the range to select it.
-
While holding the Shift key, click on the row at the other end of the range. All the rows in the range are now selected.
To select a number of contiguous or non-contiguous rows, follow these steps:
-
Click on the first row you want to select.
-
While holding the Ctrl key, click on any other row you want to select. Each new row you click is added to the selection.
You can combine the two methods, for example by selecting a range with Shift and then adding other rows with Ctrl.
Delete rows. You can delete all the selected rows by clicking the Delete button in the relevant ribbon group, or by choosing the Delete entry from the context menu. The exact names of these options depend on the contents of the grid (for instance, Delete Market or Delete Location).
Duplicate rows. To create copies of the selected rows, follow these steps:
-
Right click on any of the selected rows and choose Copy from the context menu.
-
Right click anywhere in the grid and choose Paste New from the context menu. Copies of the selected rows are added to the grid.
You can automatically create new entries from suitably formatted clipboard data:
-
Ensure data is suitably formatted in the source application. For example, if copying from Excel ensure that the columns are in the correct order, and data is setup in the appropriate type such as boolean or date.
-
Copy the data to the clipboard.
-
Press Ctrl + Shift + V, or right-click the grid and choose Paste New from the context menu.
