Edit staging data

Once you have retrieved data from the staging service, you can make updates.
You cannot directly update data values you retrieve into Excel. Cells containing values retrieved from the staging service are read only, as indicated by their shading. Instead, each column supporting data edit has a new column, immediately to its right, where you can enter new values. For example, in the previous image the Current Price column is immediately followed by a New Price column where you can enter new values.
Note that entering new values does not automatically modify the original data. To do so, you have to publish the new data back to the Staging service.
When editing measurements of type Composition for a tank:
-
You can only do one of these actions at a time:
-
Adding a composition value.
-
Modifying a composition value.
-
Deleting a composition value.
If, for example, you add a new composition value and modify an existing one at the same time, you will end up with incorrect values after publishing. Make these changes sequentially instead.
-
-
You can specify weight- or volume-based percentages or ratios, using the units of measure vol,%, vol, ratio, wgt,% and wgt, ratio.
If you use a ratio unit, this is automatically converted to a percentage unit after publishing.
Delete data from the staging service by selecting at least one cell in each row you want to delete and clicking Delete from Staging in the Schedule Staging Data group of the AVEVA™ USC Schedule ribbon tab.
Alternatively, enter TRUE for the relevant rows in the Delete Row from Staging Database column.

Deleting data from staging is not the same as marking data from deletion.
-
When an item is marked from deletion, by entering TRUE in the New Mark for Deletion column, it is removed from the schedule at the next reconciliation, but it is kept in the staging service.
-
When an item is deleted from staging as described above, it is not deleted from the schedule.
