If a Network model contains other plant models, the watch sets in these supply chain models can be reviewed and overridden in the Network environment.

Consider this example. In a source plant model, a coker may have a capacity of 25 kbbl/d. In the network model, and within a particular period, it may be required to shut this coker down. Within the relevant case tree for the correct period, this constraint could be selected and then a fixed value of 0 kbbl/d entered. This would override the original plant model's settings.

Warning: When overriding a constraint value in a watch set, that value is overridden in the plant case. Therefore, if the case is reused several times in different periods, the override applies to all periods. For example, you may use a single case to define the settings for three months; if you override the minimum reformate inventory in this case and apply a minimum for the inventory, the same minimum applies to all cases, because the same case is used to define each period.

Tip: When working with multiple periods and multiple plants, make sure you are editing the correct watch item. You can only edit the original setting in the plant case. The Watch window often contains the original setting and also a result row for the per-period result. You cannot edit the per-period result rows, but only the original constraint. This does not have a Period entry next to it.
