Fixed Schedule Duration

Warning: This topic is aimed at Schedule AI Assistant administrators.
Settings in the Advanced Settings page are shared among all users of Schedule AI Assistant for the refinery site. Any changes made in this page affect all users.

The Fixed Schedule Duration advanced feature lets you keep scheduling activities unchanged for a number of days from the beginning of the scheduling period.

For example, two days of the scheduling period may have already passed when you run the optimization. Therefore, activities started during the first two days of the schedule should not be changed by the optimizer.

You can set a value for this setting and optionally let users change this value within a certain range.

To show the Group and Description information for a setting, as shown in the previous image, click the ellipsis icon () at the end of the row and then the downward arrow icon ().

To create the fixed schedule duration setting, follow these steps:

1. Click the Create Fixed Schedule Duration link. The Create Fixed Schedule Duration pane opens.

   

2. Enter a Title for the setting.

3. Enter the Duration value, in days.

4. Enable the Editable switch if you want users to be able to edit the fixed schedule duration setting in the My Setup pane of the Setup Run page, within the boundaries you establish.

   If you do not want to make the setting editable, the following steps do not apply. Click Create to create the fixed schedule duration setting.

5. Enter a Description for the setting. This appears under the setting name in the My Setup pane.

6. Enter a Group for the setting. This is a heading under which this fixed schedule duration setting appears in the My Setup pane. You should assign related settings to the same group.

7. Enter a Lower Limit and an Upper Limit for the setting. This defines the range of fixed schedule durations users can set. For example, you may want users to be able to set values between 0 and 10 days only. Fractional values are allowed.

8. Enter an Increment. This defines the amount of change when users click the left or right arrow icons in the setting. For example, enter 1 if you want the setting to increase or decrease by one day when the icons are clicked.

9. Click Create to create the setting.

To edit the fixed schedule duration setting:

10. Click the Edit Fixed Schedule Duration link. The Edit Fixed Schedule Duration pane opens. This has the same fields as the Create Fixed Schedule Duration pane.

11. Once you have made your changes, click Update.

To delete the fixed schedule duration setting:

12. Click the ellipsis icon () at the end of the setting row of the Fixed Schedule Duration pane. A list of additional icons appears.

13. Click the icon. The Remove Fixed Schedule Duration? dialog box opens.

14. Click Remove. The setting is deleted.

Note: After you have made changes to the Advanced Settings page, you must click the Save button at the bottom right corner of the window before leaving the page. If you try to leave the page by clicking Back to optimize and there are unsaved changes, you are prompted to save them.
