Create a single-plant model

To create a new single-plant model follow these steps:

1. Click Add Model in the Supply Chain Models group of the Home ribbon tab. The Add Supply Chain Model dialog opens.

2. In the General tab, enter a name, location and description for the model. To find a location, click the globe icon and navigate to the specific location, if necessary opening the list of places within continents and countries to find the location. Alternatively, type the name of the location in the filter menu to quickly find it.

3. Switch to the UoM tab and choose the default temperature and pressure unit for the model.

4. Still in the UoM tab, select a weight or volume basis for the model from the Wgt/Vol Basis drop-down list. This is only used to select default options for unit display and does not affect the underlying mathematics of the optimization problem.

5. Click OK to confirm your choices and create the model.

   Warning: Do not include special characters in model names, such as these: "\/:*?"<>|". While these characters are supported in the actual name, it will not be possible to generate Excel reports from the model.
