Note: Search in the Tabular pane is available only if the Tabular View Searching optional feature is enabled. This is the default setting.
To do a quick search in the Tabular pane, follow these steps:
-
Type your search keywords in the text box next to the Transpose icon on the Tabular pane toolbar.
-
Press Enter. The first cell with matching text is highlighted.
-
Click the Find Next and Find Previous buttons to highlight any other matching cells.
When the search box has focus you can also press Enter to move to the next match or Shift + Enter to move to the previous match.
When either the Find Next or Find Previous button has focus, you can press Enter to move to the next or previous match, respectively.

To do an advanced search in the Tabular pane, follow these steps:
-
Click the Search in Grid button on the Tabular pane toolbar. The Find in Grid dialog opens, showing a simplified representation of the Tabular grid.

-
Enter your search keywords in the text box and press Enter. The cells with matching text are highlighted in the representation of the Tabular grid. The number of matches is shown on the dialog title bar.
-
Click the arrow buttons to move through the matching cells. Alternatively, click on a cell to highlight it. When a cell in the Find in Grid dialog is highlighted, the corresponding cell in the Tabular pane is also highlighted.

If you click away from the Find in Grid dialog, the dialog becomes semi-transparent, allowing you to keep working in the Tabular pane while keeping the search results available.

A list of previous searches is available in both search boxes, on the Tabular pane toolbar and in the Find in Grid dialog. Click the downward arrow icon at the end of the search box to show previous searches. In the Tabular pane toolbar search box, you can also remove a search term from the list by clicking the delete icon on the corresponding row. The list of previous searches is synchronized between the two search boxes.
