The Network component of AVEVA Unified Supply Chain is used to optimize the distribution of material around a network of sites over an extended period of time. Materials can be created or held at sites, and then transferred via a method to another location or finally to market. Network activities take place at nodes within the network and these nodes may produce, blend or consume different materials. Network activities take place over time and Network allocates the different activities to different periods, obeying any time constraints that may be applied to the activities.
The multi-plant, multi-period environment shares common data with the planning and scheduling environments, as well as common reference data. Data and models are all managed from the Model Explorer.
The contents of the Network environment change according to whether you have a valid Spiral Network license. If you do not have this license, the following components are not included:
-
The Map window
-
The Nodes, Exchanges, Terminals and Transports pages.
In addition, the Supplies and Demands pages are renamed to Purchases and Sales, respectively.
For more information about checking for installed licenses, see the Configure your Licenses topic. Contact AVEVA support (spiral.support@aveva.com) for information about obtaining new licenses.
