During targeting, several control strategies are available to determine where material for rate targeting originates, and how the control sources for targeting work together.

Control type |
Description |
|---|---|
|
None |
The source is not used for control. |
|
Sequential |
The asset is used along with other sequential assets. Only one sequential asset is a source at any one time, so that while the sequential asset is being drawn from, other sequential assets are filling. When the source sequential asset reaches its working minimum, the control source flips so that the other sequential asset becomes the source and this asset begins to fill. Upstream assets marked for sequential use must not be running gauge tanks. |
|
Simultaneous |
The asset is used alongside other simultaneous sources. Material is drawn from each source asset according to the relative priority of the sources, in the maximum possible rate from each source in turn until the target is met. |
|
Simultaneous (Max Rate) |
The asset is used alongside other simultaneous sources, but it is only possible to draw from the selected asset up to the maximum rate entered. |
|
Simultaneous (Max %) |
The asset is used alongside other simultaneous sources, but it is only possible to draw from the selected asset up to the maximum percentage entered. |
