Filter assets

Asset filters are used to control which assets are shown in a view. Assets are added to a filter, and when the filter is selected only those assets are shown in the view. This makes working with complex views such as the Tabular pane much simpler, as it reduces the amount of information displayed. Asset filters can be used on most pages in the scheduling environment.

Create an asset filter

  1. Add or copy an asset filter

    In the Assets group of the Home ribbon tab, click the cogwheel next to the Filter drop down menu and choose Add to add a new filter, or Copy to add a copy of the currently selected filter. The Asset Filter Editor window opens.

  2. Name view

    In the Name text field, type the name of the new filter.

  3. Select assets

    Select each assets you want to include in the new filter. Click the All and None buttons below each asset category to quickly toggle the selection of all the assets belonging to that category. Click OK when you have finished selecting assets. The Asset Filter Editor window closes and the new filter is created.

    Tip: Select Shared if you want other users who open this schedule case to be able to see and select the asset filter.

  4. Use filter

    In the Assets group of the Home ribbon tab, choose the new filter from the Filter menu. The current grid is filtered so that only the assets included in the filter are shown.

Edit or delete an asset filter

To edit or delete an asset filter you have created, make sure it is selected in the Filter drop-down menu in the Assets group of the Home ribbon tab, then choose either Edit or Delete from the same menu.
