Note: The features described in this section are part of the AVEVA USC Plan Excel AddIn.

Using the AVEVA™ USC Plan ribbon tab in Excel, you can get data from the following sources in AVEVA Unified Supply Chain:
-
From a watch set, with the ability to change values in one or more dynamic cases to check the effect of changes on optimization
Typical workflows
These are the typical workflows you can accomplish with the Plan Excel Add-In. Before attempting any of the workflows described in the following sections, make sure you have correctly configured the add-in.
Get, modify and publish data from a case
To view and modify data from a variety of sources in AVEVA Unified Supply Chain, such as views, case stacks and watch sets:
-
In AVEVA Unified Supply Chain, prepare the data you want to use in the Excel Add-In. For example, create a watch set with the variables you need or create a custom Grids including just the columns you need.
-
Get data from a case view or from a case stack.
-
Publish the data back to AVEVA Unified Supply Chain.
-
Optimize the case, either directly from the Excel Add-in or in AVEVA Unified Supply Chain.
-
Review the effect of your changes.
View data from analytics
You can view in Excel the results of any Analytics you have defined in your AVEVA Unified Supply Chain cases. Note that you cannot modify the data or publish them back to AVEVA Unified Supply Chain: the sheets you obtain are entirely read-only.
-
Prepare and optimize in AVEVA Unified Supply Chain the Analytics you want to use.
-
Review the data in Excel.
Create dynamic cases
With dynamic cases you can quickly explore the effect that changes to one or more variables have on optimization. A dynamic case is a copy of the list of variables you decide to download. You can modify each dynamic case separately and then optimize them all, and check the different results on the same Excel worksheet.
-
In AVEVA Unified Supply Chain, prepare a watch set with the variables you want to use in your dynamic cases.
-
Retrieve the data and create the dynamic cases.
-
Edit data in each dynamic case.
-
Review the results in each dynamic case.
