Minimum Activity Duration

Warning: This topic is aimed at Schedule AI Assistant administrators.
Settings in the Advanced Settings page are shared among all users of Schedule AI Assistant for the refinery site. Any changes made in this page affect all users.

You can define minimum durations for various types of activity. Optionally, you can let users configure minimum activity durations for their optimization, within the boundaries you set.

To show the Group and Description information for a setting, as shown in the previous image, click the ellipsis icon () at the end of the row and then the downward arrow icon ().

To create a minimum activity duration setting, follow these steps:

1. Click the Add Minimum Activity Duration link. The Add Minimum Activity Duration pane opens.

   

2. Enter a Title for the new setting.

3. Select the Node the minimum activity duration applies to. As you start typing, a list of matching node names appears. Click on a list item to select the node.

4. Choose whether the minimum duration applies to Input or Output activities.

5. Enter the minimum Duration in days. Fractional values, such as 3.4 days, are accepted.

6. Enable the Editable switch if you want users to be able to edit the minimum duration setting in the My Setup pane of the Setup Run page, within the boundaries you establish.

   If you do not want to make the setting editable, the following steps do not apply. Click Create to create the new minimum activity duration.

7. Enter a Description for the setting. This appears under the setting name in the My Setup pane.

8. Enter a Group for the setting. This is a heading under which this minimum duration setting appears in the My Setup pane. You should assign related settings to the same group.

9. Enter a Lower Limit and an Upper Limit for the setting, in days. This defines the range of minimum duration values users can set. For example, you may want users to be able to set values between three and five days only.

10. Enter an Increment, in days. This defines the amount of change when users click the left or right arrow icons in the setting. For example, enter 0.1 if you want the setting to increase or decrease by 0.1 days when the icons are clicked.

11. Click Create to create the new minimum activity duration.

To edit a minimum activity duration:

12. Click the ellipsis icon () at the end of the corresponding row of the Minimum Activity Duration pane. A list of additional icons appears.

13. Click the icon. The Edit Minimum Activity Duration pane opens. This has the same fields as the Add Minimum Activity Duration pane.

14. Once you have made your changes, click Update.

To delete a minimum activity duration:

15. Click the ellipsis icon () at the end of the corresponding row of the Minimum Activity Duration pane. A list of additional icons appears.

16. Click the icon. The Remove Minimum Activity Duration? dialog box opens.

17. Click Remove. The setting is deleted.

Note: After you have made changes to the Advanced Settings page, you must click the Save button at the bottom right corner of the window before leaving the page. If you try to leave the page by clicking Back to optimize and there are unsaved changes, you are prompted to save them.
