Create a QR code of environment details

This procedure describes how to create a QR code for scanning new environment details into the OSM mobile app.

You will need enter the correct text string into an online QR code generator.

Before you begin

• Find a QR code online generator that allows you to enter text.

• Have the details of the environment handy.

Environment details

A QR code needs to have the following values in the correct sequence. Each value is separated by a pipe-character (|).

1. AVEVAOSM

2. mobileenvkey

3. Name of environment. For example: New Zealand WF South Production

4. Authentication service. For example: https://pcs_server_name.company.com/identitymanager

5. Authentication key. For example: osmclientmobileprod

6. OSM Web. For example: https://osm_domain_name.company.com/prod

Create a QR code

QR code for employees to scan and register mobile environmental details into the OSM mobile app.

7. Enter the text string. For example:

   AVEVAOSM|mobileenvkey|<nameofenvironment>|<Authentication service>|<Authentication key>|<OSM Web URL>

   The software generates a QR code.

   

8. Download the QR code image (PNG, JPG).

An Admin can send the QR image by email or print the QR code to make it available employees.
