About status categories
One of the types of dynamic functionalities is a status category. This features enables you to assign various statuses to a status category so that when a work item reaches a status belonging to the category, a business rule is triggered.
There are two standard status categories:
-
Category "Active" - Statuses that can be considered active statuses.
-
Category "In Execution" - Statuses that can be considered in execution statuses.
For more information on how to configure which statuses belong to a category, see Categorize statuses.

Using status categories to trigger custom business rules
Status categories can be connected to custom business rules. Their main purpose is to provide flexibility in associating a category of statuses with a custom business rule to perform an operation for your business needs.
The creation and configuration of custom business rules needs to be performed by AVEVA Solutions.
Standard business rule for Active category
There is one standard business rule supplied. When a status belongs to the Active category, it will trigger the business rule to execute.

This business rule will remove all settings for the points in an isolation list. By default, this business rule is enabled.
